Suamico youth gets Caring honor

Anthony Leanna of Suamico will be inducted into the Hall of Fame for Caring Americans on Nov. 17.

The Washington, D.C.-based Caring Institute gives the honor annually to the most caring individuals in the nation.

Leanna, 12, a student at Bay View Middle School in Howard, is the founder of Heavenly Hats and has collected more than 15,000 hats, which have been donated to more than 70 hospitals and clinics around the country and world.

The program helps those who have lost their hair because of medical treatments.
